Rasmus Hojlund has worked hard to get close to full fitness and he is closing on his first team return.

Manchester United fans received more good news with the announcement Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have returned to training.

Rasmus Hojlund has been out of action since pre-season, when he suffered a hamstring injury 15 minutes into the first game of the USA tour.

It’s the second season in a row his start has been delayed, and the Dane is eager to get going.

Rasmus Hojlund expresses happiness

Rasmus Hojlund, 21, finished last season as Manchester United’s top scorer, and in the 15 minutes of pre-season before his injury, he managed to get on the scoresheet.

After seeing Manchester United record a biggest win under Erik ten Hag, a 7-0 victory over Barnsley, it’s no surprise the Dane is desperate to get back on the pitch.

Hojlund was all smiles in training, giving a very clear view into his mindset.

He expanded on his with his Instagram post, writing: “I guess being a football player the caption should be ‘happy to be on the pitch again’, but I think the photo says it all.”

Hojlund responds to Garnacho

Rasmus Hojlund is a popular figure among his Manchester United teammates, who they are eager to see back, helping the cause.

Alejandro Garnacho is particularly close to Hojlund and he responded with a one-word message, writing: “Finally”, in reference to the striker’s return.

Hojlund is aware he is not quite there yet, his return will only be complete when he steps foot on the pitch at Old Trafford.

The striker responded to Garnacho’s message with a simple retort: “Don’t jinx it.”

Considering Manchester United’s terrible luck with injuries in 2023/24, which has to some degree carried over into this season, Hojlund’s words of caution are understandable.

United still have Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Victor Lindelof all out injured, but getting Hojlund and Mount back would be a step in the right direction.
