Manchester United have shown the team can win without Rasmus Hojlund, only just.
Prior to last weekend’s loss to Fulham, which Rasmus Hojlund missed through injury, Manchester United’s last defeat came away at Nottingham Forest. This was also a game which the Dane missed.
So it wasn’t looking great heading into Wednesday night’s game at the City Ground, with Hojlund also missing due to the injury he sustained in training last week.
Fortunately, Manchester United pulled through, securing a 1-0 win after a late headed goal from Casemiro.

Rasmus Hojlund celebrates win
Rasmus Hojlund did not make the trip to Nottingham, and watched on nervously like millions of Manchester United fans around the world.
He was left cheering the win on television, and showed it on social media.
Hojlund shared a short video of teammate Casemiro celebrating the winning goal, with the caption ‘Vammmoooooss”.

VAR almost ruined late drama
Manchester United supporters ended up celebrating the winning goal twice, after a long VAR check.
The winner had to checked to ensure Casemiro was not offside, and that Raphael Varane was not offside or interfering with play either.
They came to the right conclusion, thankfully for United. And Hojlund didn’t have to embarrassingly delete his post either.
Hojlund should be fit for Liverpool game
Manchester United will face Liverpool in the next round of the FA Cup, with the quarter-finals set to be played in mid-March.
The other games feature Manchester City against Newcastle, Wolves v Coventry, and Chelsea v Leicester.
The kick-off times and dates are yet to be confirmed, other than that they will take place on the weekend of March 16/17.
By time that comes around, Rasmus Hojlund should be fit again, and ready to return with his freescoring goalscoring form.
