Raphael Varane and two other former Manchester United stars who are adored by the fanbase have been spending time together.

There have not been many transfers over the past decade that Manchester United fans can look back on favourably but Raphael Varane was worth every penny of the £34m spent on him back in 2021.

The four-time Champions League winner gave everything for the Red Devils right until his final game. Varane bowed out on a high after starring in United’s FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

After leaving United as a free agent, the French defender went on to join Como but suffered an unfortunate injury. Varane announced his retirement in September before taking up a boardroom role with the Italian side.

Since hanging up his boots, Varane has been spotted in disguise watching his former club Lens. He also shares a very close relationship with United after leaving on good terms and he has been spotted spending some time with two club legends.

Raphael Varane spotted with Ji-Sung Park and Patrice Evra

Between them, Ji-Sung Park and Patrice Evra spent 15 years at Manchester United, with the duo winning four Premier League titles and a Champions League together among plenty of other trophies.

Both starred in some of Sir Alex Ferguson’s best-ever United sides, with Evra starting in the 2008 Champions League final. Sir Alex Ferguson has since stated that leaving Park out of the final was one of his toughest decisions.

Park and Evra have both taken up club ambassador roles at United since retiring and have frequently been spotted at Old Trafford.

Varane’s latest Instagram post shows the three former stars spending time together.

Varane posted several images with the caption “Good times recently”. The second image shows him with Evra and Park.

What Raphael Varane has said about Man United since leaving

It has been a busy few months for Varane since his Old Trafford departure. His playing days at Como were cut short but he has since joined the club as the Head of Development and Head of the Education Program.

Varane admitted United’s project didn’t suit him after leaving, with the World Cup winner excited by a new challenge in Italy.

However, he has only spoken positively about United and the new ownership under Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

In his farewell message to United fans, Varane said: “I am very positive for the future. The new owners are coming with a clear plan and a great strategy.”
