Predicted Manchester United XI v Tottenham

Manchester United are unbeaten in the last four games in all competitions since the defeat to City – and really need a victory tonight.

United host Tottenham Hotspur, who have a seven point advantage in the table – although Erik ten Hag’s side do have a game in hand.

Tottenham lost home and away against United last season and would see taking a point as progress, while maintaining their points advantage.

After a home draw against Newcastle, it is important Manchester United get back to winning ways, preferably in a convincing manner.

Predicted Manchester United XI v Tottenham

Manchester United have a tricky away game against Chelsea this coming Saturday, but full focus has to be on beating Antonio Conte’s side tonight.

This is why we expect United to line up very strongly against Spurs and try and head to Stamford Bridge at the weekend with momentum.

David de Gea will start in goal and make his 501st club appearance. Diogo Dalot is also a certainty to start at right-back.

Luke Shaw is likely to retain his place at left-back, although it would not be a surprise to see Tyrell Malacia rotated in.

At centre-back United will likely continue with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, with Victor Lindelof on the bench.

Casemiro will start in midfield and could form a new partnership with Scott McTominay, available after suspension.

Fred will drop to the bench, while Christian Eriksen may be fit enough to make the bench but not play all 90 minutes against his former club – while Bruno Fernandes will captain the team.

Anthony Martial is out of the game, so it will be Cristiano Ronaldo starting up front and looking to recapture the magic of his hat-trick against Tottenham last season.

Marcus Rashford will start on the left ahead of Jadon Sancho to try and give United a more direct goal threat, with Antony starting on the right wing.
