Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are looking for a second win of the season in this Saturday’s match away at Tottenham.
The opening night win over Wolves was not very convincing. United came away with a 1-0 victory, just about.
An improved performance is required against a more dangerous Tottenham team, even if they are missing Harry Kane after he was sold to Bayern Munich.
United’s away form against top half teams was really poor last season. Landing a win away at Tottenham would be a major statement for 2023/24, and should be achievable.

Manchester United v Tottenham
Manchester United have a new first choice goalkeeper and Andre Onana will line up against Tottenham, looking for another clean sheet.
In defence, United have a dilemma with Lisandro Martinez battling with injury. Erik ten Hag old his press conference that the Argentine is expected to be fit, and should be ready to resume his partnership with matchwinner Raphael Varane.
At the full-back positions Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will retain their places.
The big change is expected to come in midfield. United were too open on Monday night and Ten Hag should react to that and change it up. A different approach is required in away fixtures in any case.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Casemiro should get some help with Scott McTominay alongside him. Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount will still both start, with Mount selected on the left wing, with Alejandro Garnacho dropping out.
If United don’t go with McTominay and stick with the same three-man midfield, with less cavalier instructions, then we expect Jadon Sancho to start on the left in Garnacho’s place.
Marcus Rashford will lead the line and needs to play a little better than he did on Monday. The game agains Tottenham should be more open, which would suit him.
On the right we expect Antony to retain his place and United will be looking for a strong performance from the Brazilian as the team try and get the season off to a really positive start.
