Manchester United have provided an injury update on defender Lisandro Martinez ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Tottenham.
Lisandro Martinez started Manchester United’s first game of the season against Wolves.
He was substituted at half-time. It was suspected this was to prevent him from a red card after he picked up a booking early in the first half.
But it later turned out to be injury related. Teammate Raphael Varane told BBC Sport: “A little problem on his ankle, tendon, We’ll see but I don’t think it’s a big deal. We’ll see how he is this week.”

Ten Hag says Martinez is on course to be fully fit. He explained via his press conference: “He was just training [on Thursday], so I think so. Yeah.”
Alternative options
Manchester United brought Victor Lindelof off the bench to replace Martinez against Wolves. He played his role in United keeping a clean sheet.
