Manchester United visit Crystal Palace in the Premier League tonight in a re-arranged game which was first due to be held last September.

This midweek fixture at Selhurst Park is plonked right between matches against Manchester City and Arsenal, and is the Red Devils’ first away game of 2023, with the previous a 1-0 win at Wolves on New Year’s Eve.

Hopefully Marcus Rashford set his alarm clock in advance of this match, which is a 8pm kick-off.

This is United’s long-awaited ‘game in hand’, which would move United three points ahead of Newcastle in the table, and up into second ahead of City, who host Tottenahm tomorrow night.

Predicted Manchester United line-up v Crystal Palace

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has plenty to consider for this clash, with another tricky away match against Arsenal on the horizon.

The biggest dilemma is Casemiro and Fred each being one game away from suspension if they pick up a yellow card.

Diogo Dalot is a doubt due to injury. Anthony Martial‘s readiness to start is also uncertain, after he played only 45 minutes. Jadon Sancho is back in training although it’s unclear if he could even make the bench.

David de Gea will start in goal and in-form defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka will feature at right-back against his former club.

A reshuffle is expected in defence with Raphael Varane saved for Sunday. Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire could start, with Luke Shaw moved over to left-back.

In midfield Scott McTominay could make his first league start since early October, renewing his early season partnership with Christian Eriksen.

This allows Erik ten Hag to rest suspension risks Casemiro and Fred, at least from the start. Bruno Fernandes will complete the three-man midfield.

In attack Marcus Rashford should retain his place in the side, although there is a case to rest him and play Alejandro Garnacho, Ten Hag might be wary of making too many changes.

Antony could come into the side on the right wing, with new signing Wout Weghorst making his debut up front. Anthony Martial may start if fully fit, but this remains unclear, and Weghorst could be needed right away.
