Mason Mount took part in his inaugural Manchester United training session this morning following his move from Chelsea earlier this week.

Mount completed a £55million move to United earlier this week, signing a five-year deal to play for United.

He is the first signing of the 2023 summer transfer window and was widely thought to be Erik ten Hag’s top target.

Upon his arrival, Mount has been granted the iconic number 7 shirt, made famous by Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and many others at the club.

Mount has signed in good time with preseason just around the corner. On Friday morning he took part in training ahead of the Leeds game in Oslo next Wednesday.

He joins a long list of players who have returned ahead of the preseason tour. Mount also put rumours of a feud to bed as he and Lisandro Martinez embraced as they met as teammates.

Getting straight into training is exactly what Mount would have been hoping for as he made clear in his first interview for the club.

In his first interview after signing, Mount revealed his joy at completing the move prior to preseason. He said:

“Pre-season is huge, gets you in the right shape going into the season.

“The most important thing for me was getting there and being ready on day one and being able to meet all the players and the manager to get working because we have a big season ahead.”

Mount will be desperate now to integrate as quick as possible with a huge season for the player and for United.
