Mount on the move to United

In an interview on the Manchester United official website, Mount revealed that once a move away from Chelsea seemed likely, he was set on United.

“Once I knew that United were involved, it was my decision was made up,”

He continued to rave about the move saying, “a massive club, huge iconic players have played here and I wanted to be apart of that”.

Quotes which likely won’t go down well with Chelsea fans. Nor Liverpool or Arsenal, who both wanted to sign him.

Mount will be eagerly anticipating his return to Stamford Bridge in April next season.

Mount also spoke about how glad he is to get the transfer done early, so he can be at United for pre-season.

“Pre-season is huge, gets you in the right shape going into the season.

“The most important thing for me was getting there and being ready on day one and being able to meet all the players and the manager to get working because we have a big season ahead.”

Mount is keen for success in the near future stating, “We want to win trophies, we want to be successful.” This will go down well with United fans, and players who value a winners mentality.

United’s new number seven also expressed his admiration for a past number seven in Cristiano Ronaldo. He revealed he was in the Portsmouth end at Old Trafford when Ronaldo scored that memorable free-kick in 2008. Mount described it as a “special moment.”
