Phil Jones has now revealed the huge expectations that one of Ruben Amorim’s key summer signings will now face by entering the lion’s den at Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim has been provided with new Manchester United first-team options after the Ineos regime at Old Trafford initiated a hefty summer spending spree.
Matheus Cunha arrived at the Premier League club from Wolves for £62.5m in June, while Bryan Mbeumo left Brentford after United paid an initial fee of £65m in July.
Joining Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo was the signing of Diego Leon, who had agreed to sign for United in the January window before completing his move in July.
Following United’s signing of Diego Leon, the Red Devils entered the race to sign Benjamin Sesko and landed the striker ahead of Newcastle for a £66.3m fee.
Benjamin Sesko arrived at United in August and the Red Devils signed off their summer shopping on 1st September with a successful move for Senne Lammens.

Phil Jones has explained what Senne Lammens will have to show to both Ruben Amorim and Man Utd after his summer transfer
Manchester United landed Senne Lammens on deadline day after paying Royal Antwerp £18.1m, including agreeing to add-ons, for the Belgian shot-stopper.
United manager Ruben Amorim has already faced a crisis in confidence between the sticks at the Red Devils amid the struggles of Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana.
Ex-United and England star Phil Jones has warned Lammens that it is “absolutely paramount” that the Red Devils No 1 has a ‘calming’ presence about them.
Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “The Manchester United shirt is a heavy one to wear.
“What is absolutely paramount is that the goalkeeper is calm and can deal with certain situations. He needs to be commanding and not be flapping at crosses.
“If a goalkeeper makes a mistake, it becomes infectious very quickly and spreads through the defensive unit.
“If a goalkeeper made a mistake, it was almost like you couldn’t get it out of your system until the next game.”
Phil Jones’ warning message to Senne Lammens is something that Ruben Amorim’s new Man Utd signing must immediately adopt
Lammens is likely to be afforded the same time and space to integrate himself into the United first team before becoming a regular starter under Amorim.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper has a clear opening to compete for the United No 1 shirt with the error-prone Altay Bayindir in the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Lammens’ arrival from Royal Antwerp has already paved the way for United star Andre Onana, who is now set to sign for Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan, to leave Old Trafford.
The former Antwerp star could be thrown straight into the deep end at United if Amorim chooses to hand him his debut against Manchester City on Sunday.
