Rio Ferdinand has suggested that only one Manchester United player could match what two of Ruben Amorim’s summer signings are now offering the Red Devils.
Ruben Amorim welcomed the arrival of five new Manchester United summer signings at Old Trafford before the transfer window finally closed on 1st September.
The United manager added Matheus Cunha to his first-team squad in June before the Red Devils confirmed the signings of Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo in July.
Benjamin Sesko provided Amorim with a new striking option after United beat Premier League side Newcastle in the race to sign the ex-RB Leipzig ace in August.
Joining Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window was the arrival of Senne Lammens on deadline day.

Rio Ferdinand explains what Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are providing Man Utd after the Red Devils’ two summer signings
Manchester United triggered Matheus Cunha’s £62.5m release clause at Wolves to land the 26-year-old Brazil international, who has impressed under Ruben Amorim.
Bryan Mbeumo was subject to United’s interest in the summer and it took the Red Devils’ third bid to seal his initial £65m transfer from Premier League side Brentford.
Both Mbeumo and Cunha have settled in well at Old Trafford in the early stages of the campaign and offered a much-needed boost to the attacking threat for Amorim.
Rio Ferdinand insisted that Patrick Dorgu was the only United player who could rival Mbeumo and Cunha for the pace and power before two summer signings arrived.
Speaking to Andy Mitten for the United We Stand magazine, the United legend said: “Do you know what I like about those two signings?
“[…] But all I’ve said for the last couple of years is we lack pace, power, [and] aggression.
“Throughout the whole team. Who have we got in our team, in the squad that’s pace and power? Dorgu, pace, power.
“The Premier League is about that. The game’s about that now. You’ve got the best team, PSG, pace everywhere.
“And you look at our team and there’s not enough of it and Cunha and Mbeumo both bring that.”

Ferdinand believes that the tried-and-tested Premier League pedigree of Cunha and Mbeumo is a major boost after their respective arrival from Wolves and Brentford.
The 46-year-old former defender pinpointed how Brazil international Cunha and Cameroon international Mbeumo can change the entire tempo of the match.
“I’d like to see a bit more,” Ferdinand said.
“[…] But those two give us Premier League experience. They give us the know-how to score goals and give us [the] ability to get us up the pitch transitions.
“They can turn defence into attack quickly and they’ve shown they can score goals in this league and we have had that.”
United will return to Premier League action on Sunday at the Etihad against Manchester City for their first match after the September international break.
