Manchester United legend Paul Scholes was devastated after he snubbed former teammate Roy Keane when naming the Red Devils’ best midfielder of all time.
Paul Scholes spent his entire playing career at Old Trafford across two different spells under legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
One of the famed ‘Class of ‘92’ members, Scholes was a linchpin midfield figure for Manchester United’s legendary teams of the past.
The 49-year-old former United midfielder lifted 11 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, three FA Cups and two League Cups.
Scholes, who made a whopping 713 appearances for United, initially called it time on his legendary playing career in 2011.
However, the United legend made a U-turn in 2012 and returned to Old Trafford, with Scholes capturing a Premier League title in the 2012-13 season.
Scholes announced his retirement from football for the second time in 2013 and left United at the same time as Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out of Old Trafford.

Scholes talks Man Utd midfielders
Paul Scholes is widely regarded as one of the best Premier League midfielders of all time alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
The former Manchester United star shared the pitch with several influential midfield figures, including Nicky Butt, Michael Carrick and Roy Keane.
Speaking to the Manchester United Foundation (via TikTok), Scholes took part in a ‘winner stays on’ segment with former and current Red Devils midfielders.
Scholes started off by choosing Darren Fletcher over Anderson before switching to former United teammate Nicky Butt.
The former England midfielder stuck with Butt over United legend Nobby Stiles, himself, Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
“I love Nobby. He was brilliant. But I’m going to have to say Nicky,” Scholes said.
Scholes on Keane and top midfield pick
Despite his admiration for Nicky Butt, Scholes swapped out his former United teammate when current Red Devils star Kobbie Mainoo popped up.
However, Kobbie Mainoo’s run was short-lived after Keane appeared next and Scholes went for the legendary former United captain.
Scholes stuck with former United teammate Keane ahead of the likes of Paul Ince and Juan Sebastian Veron.
However, the England midfielder paused for a moment and appeared devastated when Irishman Keane came up against United legend Bryan Robson.
“Ooft. Bryan Robson. He’s my hero. Bryan Robson,” Scholes said.
Scholes swapped out Keane for legendary former United captain Bryan Robson, who took home the crown for the club’s best midfielder in the ‘winner stays on’ clip.
