Paul Pogba received some great news recently when his ban from sports for a doping allegation was reduced vastly to allow him back on the pitch in January.
However, that was immediately followed by reports that his current club, Juventus, are unlikely to want his services anymore.
The Old Lady are flying under Thiago Motta and the club are looking to the future, with Paul Pogba not considered a part of it.
Therefore, there were suggestions that they will terminate his contract, allowing him to sign on a free transfer with another club.
It has now emerged that he could be set for a reunion with another former Man United man in a full-circle moment.

Paul Pogba in advanced talks
There isn’t much question about Pogba’s talent but his injury history and general inconsistency were always going to make it difficult for him to find a club comparable to the stature of Juventus.
Still, the talent alone makes it worth taking a punt on him, especially as his wage demands are unlikely to be as high anymore after being out of the game for so long.
He is probably looked at as a project to be rehabbed right now which, if done successfully, will be a bonafide success.
What better place to do that, than at a club which is increasingly getting a reputation for searching for exactly those kinds of players?
French journalist Malick Traore reports that Pogba is already in advanced talks with Olympique Marseille with a view to making a permanent move in January.
Marseille, as United fans are familiar, signed Mason Greenwood in the summer who currently sits second in the scoring charts for Ligue 1.
Besides Greenwood, they have many other players who were distressed assets at their clubs, with Roberto de Zerbi backing himself to return them to their former glories.
It includes Adrien Rabiot, long linked with Man Utd, Neal Maupay, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Geoffrey Kondogbia, among others.
Pogba’s homecoming
Perhaps a return to France with a club that has former international teammates like Rabiot and former club teammates like Greenwood is exactly what he needs.
Marseille are right in the mix in an unexpectedly close title race so far, with AC Monaco leading the way, PSG sitting second, just above Marseille.
De Zerbi’s free-flowing, attacking football should also see him flourish in an on-ball role and there is no need for him to be rushed back as they already have ample midfield options.
In brief, he should be used exactly as he should be- an icing on top of the cake instead of being a foundational piece for the recipe, which is what United intended to do.
