Manchester United’s under-18s side are the 2022 FA Youth Cup winners, clinching the competition for the first time since 2011.

The 2011 squad included Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, and one famous photo from after the win that night was recreated by the 2022 side.

Sam Mather, Dan Gore, Kobbie Mainoo and Maxi Oyedele all posed in a near identical manner in the dressing room to how Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison did before them.

The likeness was appreciated by Pogba, who shared an image on Instagram congratulating the young winners of 2022, acknowledging their success.

Pogba’s return to Manchester United has not been a great success, but the 2011 FA Youth Cup win was a big moment early in his career.

His performances to help United win the trophy in 2011 helped him build his reputation in football, and it was the first step on his way to winning the biggest prize on offer, the World Cup.

The Frenchman is expected to leave Manchester United on a free contract at the end of the current season, for the second time in his career.

But he still has time for the young players in United’s current youth set up, and perhaps, they might go on to do what he has not quite managed, and lead the Red Devils to win the Premier League one day.
