Denmark defender Patrick Dorgu has no doubts in his mind over the future trajectory of one first-team Manchester United teammate at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old Manchester United star did not feature at this summer’s World Cup, but Patrick Dorgu has featured over the course of the pre-season tour so far.

Dorgu has continued to operate out on the left wing for Michael Carrick during the Red Devils’ 5-0 win over Rosenborg and 1-0 defeat against Wrexham this month.

The Denmark international, who can play both as a winger and as a full-back, has now shown his ultimate admiration for Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes.

Man Utd star Patrick Dorgu’s prediction for Bruno Fernandes’ post-playing career is clear as day

Bruno Fernandes has missed the start of Manchester United’s pre-season campaign this summer after representing Portugal at the World Cup in North America.

The 31-year-old Man Utd captain deeply impressed in the second half of the 2025-26 Premier League season after Michael Carrick played him in an advanced position.

Speaking to ESPN, Patrick Dorgu was asked which current United first-team player would most likely become a manager and Fernandes was the clear favourite.

“That’s… bro, think about it,” he said.

“Think about it, bro. That’s easy, bro. Big player for us. Leader.”

Man Utd and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has hinted at his desire to become a manager

Fernandes ended the 2025-26 Premier League season by breaking the assist record for a single campaign, as the Red Devils finished in third place in the league table.

Speaking in a Man Utd fan Q&A in 2021, the Portugal star made it clear that he does have an ambition to enter the world of coaching after he hangs up his boots.

“I’m trying to enjoy the football, you know. I think I want to be a coach,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“Honestly, I would like to be a coach. I don’t know which team I would like to manage.

“Of course, the biggest team if I can manage Manchester United, I will be happy. I can leave now just some words, so if people see this, if I’m a manager in the future, the fans can [put] some pressure to bring me as a coach!”

Fernandes made 37 appearances across all competitions last season and the former Sporting CP midfielder netted nine times and registered 22 assists for his side.
