Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been putting together a legacy among the game’s greats.
Whether you regard Pele, Diego Maradona, or George Best as the greatest footballer of all time, or even Lionel Messi, it is hard to argue with the career numbers Cristiano Ronaldo has delivered.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the all time leading interrnational goalscorer, the all-time Champions League top scorer, and surpassed the 800 goal mark in 2021.
Ronaldo is almost at the 900 mark. He scored twice for Al-Nassr to take his tally to 896, just four away.

Cristiano Ronaldo does it again
Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2024/25 season is off to a new start as he bids to put the disappointment of Portugal’s Euro 2024 exit behind him.
He scored twice as Al-Nassr beat Al-Tawoun 2-0 in the Saudi Super Cup semi-finals, booking their place in the final against Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo’s two goals took his career tally from 894 to 896, and achieved another inevitable yet impressive feat in the process.
The brace made it 23 consecutive seasons Cristiano Ronaldo has scored professional goals, and even though he’s not quite at the rate of his 61-goal season for Real Madrid, he has no intention of slowing down entirely.
Former teammate Patrice Evra sent Ronaldo a message on Instagram, paying tribute to his incredible longevity, making a prediction that even his former Champions League winning teammate may not be able to live up to.
Evra wrote: “@Cristiano cr7 retirement 2077 button… respect bro”.

Rio Ferdinand on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future
A frustrating Euro 2024 for Cristiano Ronaldo ended up being remembered for his tears after missing a penalty, after he failed to score a single goal.
This left many wondering how much Ronaldo has left in the tank, and while playing in the Saudi Pro League is a long way from the more arduous Premier League, the superstar has no intentions of calling it quits just yet.
Former teammate Rio Ferdinand was asked about Ronaldo, during a question and answer session on X, and he revealed the 39-year-old forward has a plan which could take him another three seasons.
Ferdinand explained: “I can’t give too much away but I’ve been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes, and he’s playing as long as he wants. He ain’t going nowhere.
“And I was gobsmacked, and you’ll see it in time, but minimum three years I think he plays for again.”
Ronaldo march to 1,000 goals
With a potential three more years for Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s increasingly evident he is backing himself to march towards the 1,000 goal mark.
He’s four goals away from 800, and it took three years to get from there to 900, including a few wasted months as his Manchester United career trailed off to a bitter end.
Last season Ronaldo scored 44 goals for Al-Nassr in all competitions. If he continues at this same pace, it might not even need three years.
