Omar Janneh: The Ineos wonderkid signing with 4 goals in 6 games outshining two Man Utd talents

Manchester United scouts will be on alert to the impressive progress being made by Omar Janneh at Lausanne.

Ineosmulti-club network is yet to pay dividends for Manchester United, but it is only a matter of time before it does. Omar Janneh might be one player who makes the jump.

Manchester United currently have two players out on loan at Lausanne. Young striker Enzo Kana-Biyik, and Sekou Kone. The latter made his debut in midweek.

Neither player started in Lausanne’s weekend draw with Servette, but new teenage striker Omar Janneh did. And he had made a rapid start to life in Switzerland.

Would you re-sign Scott McTominay for Manchester United?

Where would he fit in? How much is he worth?

Who is Omar Janneh?

Lausanne signed Omar Janneh from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, paying £1 million for his services, signing the striker on a contract until 2030.

It is a similar fee to the amounts paid by Manchester United for Kone and Kana-Biyik, but this time Lausanne moved directly for Janneh.

The Spanish youth international has made an immediate impact in Switzerland, despite having no first team experience beforehand.

19-year-old Janneh scored on his debut as a substitute against Young Boys and after netting at the weekend he has four goals in six appearances.

His numbers look even more impressive if you note that his four goals have come within two starts, and he now netted the past three games in a row.

Janneh is averaging a goal every 70 minutes, and it looks like Ineos have landed a real gem.

SHOULD Ineos be doing more moves between United, Nice and Lausanne?

The route to Manchester United

There should already be lines of communication ongoing between officials at Manchester United and Lausanne as part of the multi-club model.

And even if this was not the case, Manchester United’s scouts will have been keeping track of how Kone and Kana-Biyik have been faring.

Both players were unused substitutes in Lausanne’s 3-3 draw with Servette, with Janneh coming off the bench to score and give his side the lead.

The progress being made by the teenage striker is unmistakable, and it is showing up the Manchester United-owned pair.

Janneh is a Spain under-19 international striker with four goals in 17 games. He previously scored 6 goals in 10 games for Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Youth League.

At Atletico he was coached by Fernando Torres, with Marca noting: “He stands out for his physique, speed, and powerful shot with both feet.”

He is a player Lausanne have taken a gamble on, in the same way United are taking a punt on young talents from around the globe. Premier League and Bundesliga teams were also previously keen on his signature, so the move was a coup for the Swiss side.

Right now Janneh is making a big impact and showing why he is a player United should be paying close attention to.

If Ineos‘ strategic partnership is serious, and Janneh keeps up his prolific scoring form, then do not be surprised if he ends up at Old Trafford.
