Carlos Tevez says he will never return to Manchester – even for a holiday.

Manchester United’s Champions League winning side of 2008 was a team fans are still proud of to this very day.

The players who starred for the team are still admired, with the exception of one man, for who respect differs.

Manchester United fans’ relationship with Carlos Tevez has never recovered since his decision to join City in 2009.

Carlos Tevez says he won’t return to Manchester

Carlos Tevez was part of one of Manchester United’s most successful attacking tridents, along with Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. 2008 was their peak, within a year, two were gone.

Quoted by The Times, Tevez says: “You can buy a holiday house in Marbella. But I’m never going back to Manchester, not even on holiday, not for anything.”

He went on to say he simply saw playing football in England as a job, and refused to learn the language or accept the culture due to Argentina’s bitter history with the country due to the Falklands War.

This explains Tevez’s lack of loyalty towards United when he chose to sign with City after the Red Devils did not ‘sign him up’ as fans pleaded at the end of the 2009 season.

Tevez had become marginalised by Sir Alex Ferguson signing Dimitar Berbatov, and was left out of the Champions League final the following year.

Most United fans felt he got a raw deal from the club, and should have been retained at all costs, especially considering Cristiano Ronaldo was sold the same summer. United did not effectively replace either.

Still, joining City was a low blow, and when he was pictured with a ‘RIP Fergie’ placard on City’s title winning bus parade in 2012, there was outrage at the disrespect.

Tevez probably knows he wouldn’t be welcomed back in Manchester by many. But even for the blue side, he holds little affection either.

The Argentine was a great player, who United were lucky to have for two seasons. But that’s as far as it went, and Tevez seems fine with that.
