Manchester United legend Nicky Butt has now made two major predictions for the Red Devils under Michael Carrick after the West Ham match on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old former Red Devils midfielder was on punditry duties for TNT Sports for Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium.

The Red Devils snatched a Premier League point in the dying stages of the Premier League match, with Benjamin Sesko producing heroics once again for United.

Benjamin Sesko climbed off the bench in the second half and the 22-year-old Slovenian forward netted a stunning Man Utd equaliser against West Ham.

The Hammers were crestfallen at the London Stadium after they led for the majority of the second half, with Tomas Soucek breaking the deadlock against United.

The West Ham match was the first time that the Red Devils had dropped Premier League points under Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick.

Carrick, who returned to Old Trafford in January, had chalked up four consecutive Premier League wins with the Red Devils after his appointment as interim boss.

Nicky Butt has insisted that United legend Carrick will welcome the Red Devils securing at least a Premier League point from their visit to the London Stadium.

Speaking on TNT Sports, he said: “Michael will be putting this to bed now.

“He’ll probably be sitting there thinking that feels more like a win than a draw.

“It keeps the run going, undefeated in five. Everton is a totally different game. He’ll work towards that; he’ll get the team going again.”

United won’t return to action now until 23rd February, with the Red Devils visiting Goodison Park to face Premier League side Everton at an 8pm UK kick-off time.

The Red Devils held onto their position in the Premier League table after the West Ham result, with fourth-place United one point clear of fifth-place Chelsea.

Butt has predicted that United should win on their visit to Goodison Park and has backed Carrick’s men to finish the season in either third or fourth place.

“He’ll get the confidence back up,” he added.

“This was going to happen sooner or later. I think this is a good point to take back up the road.

“Everton, they can go on and win that. I think they’ll finish third or fourth this season and that will be a really good season for Michael and United.”

United defeated title challengers Manchester City and Arsenal in January before the Red Devils beat both Fulham and Tottenham at Old Trafford in February.
