Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko was unable to make the difference in the draw with Nottingham Forest.
Summer signing Benjamin Sesko retained his place in Manchester United’s starting line-up against Nottingham Forest, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw.
Sesko did not get on the scoresheet and touched the ball only 21 times, attempting only two shots at goal.
He miscontrolled an excellent through ball from Bryan Mbeumo in the first half, spurning what could have materialised into a golden opportunity.
He was criticised by former Red Devils stalwart Gary Neville for his performance, who labelled him ‘awkward’, but not everybody shared his negativity.

MUTV pundit encouraged by Benjamin Sesko
Benjamin Sesko did not score against Forest, but he has netted twice for United so far. He has at times showed excellent link-up play with his teammates.
Sesko made one attempt from outside the box in the first half when he rifled a shot narrowly wide.
MUTV analyst Mark Sullivan told the channel’s post-game coverage: “His link up play is generally very good, we’ve said that before. The combinations are starting to come together with Mbeumo and Cunha.
Referring to Sesko’s long-range effort, he added: “The power he gets on that shot from little backlift is impressive.”
This was a positive slant that former Manchester United defender Wes Brown agreed with.
Brown said that he is confident Sesko will score goals, he just needs his Manchester United teammates to create more chances for him.
He said: “You can see he’s got a great shot, as simple as that. He needs to be in those positions more often.
“He made a diagonal run in, and if we can get the ball into him more often, we will see some strikes. He’s not had that many opportunities.”
Sesko retaining place is not clear cut
It is not clear cut that Benjamin Sesko will retain his place when Manchester United face Tottenham next weekend.
Mason Mount is available for selection, and while he was not utilised by Ruben Amorim against Nottingham Forest, it is likely he will have some involvement.
Amorim has selected Mount ahead of Sesko on a handful of occasions this season, and if he decides this is the right tactical approach against Tottenham, he won’t be afraid to do so.
Sesko is still the most likely selection, but he did not put in an overwhelming case to keep his place, despite the odd flash of quality.
