MUTV pundit raves about Manchester United star who ‘stuck out’ in win v Fulham

Aaron Wan-Bissaka made his first start since early September in Manchester United’s win over Fulham.

Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was a welcome sight back in the Manchester United defence at the weekend and after the game he thanked supporters for their backing against Fulham.

Manchester United supporters were equally thankful for his contribution in helping the team secure a clean sheet and a 1-0 victory.

Wan-Bissaka was one of the players picked out for praise on MUTV following the late win at Fulham.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka praised

Former Manchester United prospect Ben Thornley spoke to MUTV’s Matchday Review after the final whistle at Craven Cottage.

He named three players who caught his eye, with Wan-Bissaka’s contribution grabbing him the most.

Thornley said: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka stuck out for me. One, because he had a decent game, two, he showed a hell of a lot of character for the time he’d been out.

“Him and Scott McTominay were the epitome of what United needed today, some great tackling, Harry Maguire as well with his heading. You need a little bit of something, that might set you up for the dramatic finish.”

Scott McTominay called for fight

Ahead of the game Scott McTominay called for the players to ‘fight like dogs’, while a banner in the away end demanded ‘play like you mean it’.

This was a reference to the team needing to show character and dig in, after two back to back 3-0 home defeats.

The season has been underwhelming, but United to have the same points total right now as at this stage last season. Factor in the injuries the team is dealing with, and it’s not been a complete disaster.

We won’t get too carried away by one win, but it was precisely what we needed, however it came, and the players do deserve credit for managing to get over the line.
