Facundo Pellistri and Aaron Wan-Bissaka send messages to Manchester United fans

Manchester United forced through a late winner against Fulham through sheer persistence.

Nobody embodied that more than second half substitute Facundo Pellistri, who was making his first Premier League appearance in more than a month.

Pellistri replaced Antony, who was utterly woeful, and it’s’s clear there is something very wrong with the under performing Brazilian right now.

The winning goal was scored by Bruno Fernandes but it was Pellistri who created it, first from a driving run down the wing, before blocking a clearance, and then passing the ball to his teammate.

Pellistri persistence

Pellistri did not give up, and he took the message from supporters literally, with a banner reading ‘play like you mean it’ on show in the away end.

The Uruguayan has not enjoyed the run of games he wanted, but he might get a chance now. His impressive cameo deserved it.

He wrote a message to supporters on Instagram reading: “This is the way! we have to keep going.”

He’s not wrong. Manchester United must follow this up with a win away at Copenhagen this week in the Champions League.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka shines

Another player you don’t often hear from is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and he has been especially quiet recently due to injury.

After making his return in midweek, Wan-Bissaka went straight back into the starting line-up for his first Premier League start in two months.

Unsurprisingly, United kept a clean sheet. He cope well with the tricky Willian, and it’s great to have him back.

He also sent a message on Instagram, writing: “Important win today! Support was 👌🏾🔴”.

United’s players know they need to dig in now, and this was a good response. It is good to see they are up for the fight.
