Michael Carrick has insisted that Luke Shaw is in the same position as Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee now after Manchester United’s draw against Bournemouth.
The Red Devils walked away from the Vitality Stadium on Friday evening with a point after 10-man Manchester United secured a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
Luke Shaw started the Premier League match and the 30-year-old England international saw out the full 90 minutes of Man Utd’s encounter with Bournemouth.
Joshua Zirkzee was an unused substitute at the Vitality Stadium, while Mason Mount was brought on deep into second-half injury time for United winger Amad Diallo.

Should Michael Carrick be cut some slack because of the decisions that went against Man United?

Michael Carrick on Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee during Man Utd’s extended waiting period for their next match
The Red Devils now have a 24-day waiting period before returning to Premier League action against rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford on 13th April.
Manchester United’s encounter with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium was the Red Devils’ final match of March ahead of the start of the international break.
Luke Shaw failed to make the England squad for the March break, but both Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo were called up by Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel.
Mason Mount’s injury-hit season also ruled out a call-up for England and struggling striker Joshua Zirkzee was snubbed by the Netherlands international team as well.
Michael Carrick spoke about what United will now do with the likes of Shaw, Mount, Zirkzee and Tyrell Malacia, who were all left behind for the international break.
“There’s not too many left, to be honest,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“We’ve got Mason [Mount], Josh [Zirkzee], we’ve got Tyrell [Malacia], and Luke Shaw, so most of the other lads are off.
“It feels like a long time, but because it’s the international break and the boys usually have to hurry back, it gives them a chance not to rush.”

Michael Carrick’s Man Utd plans for Luke Shaw and Co during the March international break
United legend Carrick insisted that the Red Devils will not waste the days during the March break and training will be important for Shaw and Co during the period.
“It feels long when you say it days-wise, but the fact is that boys would be training and a lot of them would be playing two games anyway,” he added.
“We’ll make the most of it when we all get back together.”
United are third in the Premier League table after Friday’s result and the Red Devils are four points clear of fourth-place Aston Villa, who have a match in hand now.
