Micah Richards and Gary Lineker were singing from the same hymn sheet over a Manchester United star who ‘played really well’ in the Brighton match on Saturday.
Both Gary Lineker and Micah Richards caught up with Alan Shearer on The Rest Is Football podcast in the aftermath of Manchester United’s win over Brighton.
The Seagulls arrived at Old Trafford on the weekend and the Red Devils produced a strong showing in front of the Manchester United fans who were in attendance.
Matheus Cunha and Casemiro put Ruben Amorim’s men 2-0 up at half-time before Red Devils summer signing Bryan Mbeumo netted after the break against Brighton.
However, Brighton hit back against United in the second half and Danny Welbeck and Charalampos Kostoulas both added their names to the scoresheet on Saturday.
United manager Ruben Amorim was still able to walk away with all three Premier League points after Bryan Mbeumo scored deep into second-half stoppage time.

Bryan Mbeumo saw out the full 90 minutes for Manchester United on Saturday evening and the 26-year-old French-born attacker was a real threat in attack.
The United summer signing has been in a stunning run of form since his big-money move from Brentford and Mbeumo was once again a standout against Brighton.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Micah Richards insisted that the Red Devils must build on their consistency in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United.
“Really, really good, and these are all the things that I’ve been saying,” he said.
“If you’re going to play in this way, and I’ve never said, a lot of people will say, ‘Oh, I thought,’ the system can work.
“I just don’t think they’re playing it in the right way, and I don’t think about the players to do that.
“That’s the first time I’ve been convinced that they know exactly what their roles are. And I agree with Alan now.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “Now the challenge is consistency. That’s what it needs to be.
“And Mbeumo, give him time and space, he’s going to hurt you. And I thought he played really well as well.”

Mbeumo has built serious momentum with his role in the starting XI for United and the former Bees ace has netted five times in his first 10 matches for the Red Devils.
Gary Lineker, much like Richards, praised Mbeumo for what he has offered United and he is impressed with how the Cameroon international has handled pressure.
“He’s really good, Mbeumo,” he said.
“I mean, he’s also, I suppose, the question mark again, someone that’s done consistently well at a club like Brentford – with all due respect – is to then jump to one of the giants in world football and be able to handle it. And he clearly can.”
Lineker continued: “It’s not fazed him in the slightest.
“So, and I would say the same with Cunha. I mean, obviously, he’s got experience of Atletico in Madrid, which, you know, is obviously one of the big boys in Spain, but Manchester United is a little different.”
United will now travel to City Ground and will face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, with kick-off for the match slated for 3pm UK time.
