Mason Greenwood is still smashing it away from Manchester United.

Despite a recent fixture which involved a somewhat ludicrous sending-off, the English winger has been electric for Getafe since he departed from Old Trafford.

He has three goals and four assists in just 12 starts in La Liga this season, which has led to praise from his new coach and interest from some of Europe’s hottest clubs.

Mason Greenwood‘s December was particularly impressive – which is why he was presented with an award for his new side.

Mason Greenwood wins Getafe Player of the Month

Greenwood did have a sublime December in Spain. He put in four fine performances, including one noteworthy feat against Sevilla with one goal and one assist.

Due to this – it’s no surprise that he has been voted Player of the Month for Getafe. This was awarded in the Jugador Cinco Estrellas, which is voted for by La Liga fans.

Greenwood emerged victorious amid four other Getafe candidates and scoops up this award for the very first time this season.

Mason Greenwood among La Liga’s best

Greenwood is among some of the finest talent La Liga has to boast. The way the award works is that 11 teams all take part, including the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and of course, Getafe, who all vote individually for their clubs.

For example, Brahim Diaz won for Real Madrid in December.

In the past, it’s been won by some of La Liga’s finest – including the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luka Modric, Fedi Valverde, Karim Benzema and so many more.

Greenwood is already making waves in La Liga, and with his Manchester United future up in the air, many teams will be taking note.

Will he make a return to United? That’s a difficult subject, but what he is surely doing is putting a bigger and bigger price tag on his head – which means either way, Erik ten Hag will reap the future rewards.
