Mason Greenwood was in action once again away from Manchester United.
The young English forward has endured a fine season for Getafe. He has quickly become arguably their most important player.
From his wondergoal against Almeria, to his stellar performance against Sevilla in La Liga – he’s proving he can do the business in Spain’s top flight.
The Manchester United loanee seems to have settled in nicely in Spain, but his most recent fixture posed an issue that will certainly have affected him. This came in a five-goal thriller against Osasuna.
Mason Greenwood stars in five-goal thriller
Getafe took on Osasuna in what was a really important mid-table clash, with Greenwood’s side sitting in 10th and their opponents in 11th.
The game finished 3-2 to Osasuna, but very nearly had a remarkable comeback from Getafe. Greenwood started from the off.
Osasuna took the lead in the 9th minute thanks to Raul Garcia, with their lead doubled 22 minutes later through Iker Munoz.
José Bordalás must have rallied his troops at half-time, with Getafe producing a remarkable four-minute fight back. Goals in the 64th minute from Borja Mayoral and Nemanja Maksimovic in the 68th drew them level.
However, it wasn’t meant to be for Greenwood or the away side, with Osasuna regaining the lead in the 80th minute through Jesus Areso in what was ultimately the winner.

Mason Greenwood’s new ‘problem’
According to Estadio Deportivo, a new problem arose for the winger in this fixture.
Greenwood has a history with Osasuna, after travelling fans in the home tie shouted chants wishing death on the English forward.
In this tie, the chants were not present, but every time Greenwood got the ball he was profusely jeered by the crowd.
The Osasuna coach in a press conference before the match, spoke about the chants: “Both chants are wrong. Greenwood is a great player and will surely come in handy for Getafe.”
Did it affect his game? Potentially, and Osasuna did get the win. One thing is for certain, Greenwood will be glad he doesn’t have to face this side again this season.
