Manchester United produced a dominant home performance to defeat an easily overwhelmed Everton side 4-0.

New head coach Ruben Amorim led Manchester United to a Premier League victory by a four-goal margin in his first ever match at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag never managed to do so at United, his biggest league wins being 3-0 and 4-1.

Marcus Rashford scored two of Manchester United’s goals, with Joshua Zirkzee adding a brace of his own.

Marcus Rashford celebrates

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is now up to seven goals for the season, and three of them have already come under Ruben Amorim.

At the moment Rashford is still finding his best role in Amorim’s system, having led the line a week ago, he was more withdrawn in this one, playing in support of Joshua Zirkzee.

Rashford posted a message following the win, choosing not to focus on his individual output, writing: “Top team performance.”

He received a message from his former Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard, who responded: “Normal procedure.”

United legend Patrice Evra also chipped in, with a simple message which read ‘Timing’, in reference to Rashford hitting form under his new head coach.

Bruno Fernandes celebrates United win

Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo had also sent messages following the 4-0 victory, enjoying the feeling of winning in front of the home crowd.

Another to do so was United captain Bruno Fernandes, who reflected on the straightforward nature of the win, writing: “A nice Sunday at home.”

Lisandro Martinez added: “Important home win in front of our fans. We continue to grow all together, Red Devils!”
