Marcus Rashford reacts to Amad’s debut goal for Rangers

Amad only joined Rangers on loan from Manchester United this week but he was put straight into the starting eleven at the first time of asking.

Rangers travelled to face Ross County in the Scottish Premiership and Amad wasted no time making an impact, scoring within five minutes.

That put his side in front but by half-time, they were behind. A goalkeeping error from Allan McGregor allowed the hosts to equalise before a host of failed clearances were punished by Regan Charles-Cook, who made it 2-1.

Rangers got back into the game within minutes of the interval when James Tavernier equalised before fellow defender Connor Goldson put them on course for a 3-2 comeback win.

But the game ended 3-3 after a period of pinball in the visitors’ box ended with Matthew Wright firing home a 96th minute equaliser.

Marcus Rashford was quick to congratulate Amad on his maiden Rangers goal, sending out a tweet soon after the Ivorian had netted.

He was not the only United player to react to the news.

Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams are both academy graduates who are out on loan, at Birmingham and Norwich respectively.

They both praised Amad after his debut goal as he made an instant impact with his new employers.

Amad already has a chant from the Rangers fans, who seem to have taken him to their hearts already.

On top of the late sickener, it was not a perfect first outing on a personal level, because Amad went off injured in the second half.

He will be hoping it is nothing serious because on the basis of his maiden performance, he should be in the side for the next game.

That is a derby clash with Celtic, which will be played out in front of a hostile atmosphere and will be another fantastic test of Amad’s quality and temperament.
