Marcus Rashford will hope to reignite his career by leaving Manchester United to join Barcelona.
Once seen as the future of Manchester United, Marcus Rashford will now depart the Red Devils this summer in a quest to get his career back on track.
United have agreed to loan Rashford to Barcelona, with both clubs finalising the details before making an official announcement.
Barcelona expect to buy Rashford permanently next summer by triggering the buy option attached to his loan deal. According to the Daily Mail, the buy option is worth around £40 million.
But Rashford has his work cut out to convince Barcelona he is worthy of a permanent move, and the best way to win over fans would be to star in the famous El Clasico fixture against Real Madrid.

Marcus Rashford head-to-head against Trent Alexander-Arnold in El Clasico
There has been a recent surge of English players taking their careers overseas, and Rashford joined former Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold in chasing a move to Spain.
Like Rashford, Alexander-Arnold was an academy graduate at Liverpool but he chose to run down his contract in Merseyside to complete a move to Real Madrid this summer.
Now, when Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in El Clasico, the Liverpool-born and Manchester-born stars will go head-to-head in Spain’s fiercest rivalry.
Bizarrely, reports suggested Liverpool were interested in Rashford this summer, but a move to Barcelona is now all but complete.
Rashford will also come up against England teammate Jude Bellingham, as well as Kylian Mbappe who has also had some intense matches against the United star.
Barcelona’s first scheduled El Clasico of the season is set for October 26, giving Rashford a few months to settle in Spain and work his way into Hansi Flick’s plans.
Marcus Rashford once ‘destroyed’ Trent Alexander-Arnold in Man United win
United fans will have fond memories of seeing Rashford go up against Alexander-Arnold in the Premier League, and now they will reignite their rivalry in Spain.
Back in 2018, when both players were very much at the beginning of their careers, Rashford “destroyed” Alexander-Arnold at Old Trafford, according to Manchester Evening News.
Rashford scored twice in 24 minutes to fire United into an early lead against Jurgen Klopp’s side. An own-goal from Eric Bailly in the second half made for a tense finish, but Rashford’s brace was enough to secure all three points.

Throughout his career, Rashford has faced Liverpool 20 times, and even if he usually gets the better of Alexander-Arnold, he has only won on four occasions.
He has scored seven goals against Liverpool, and will hope that his knowledge of facing Trent will help him find the back of the net for Barcelona this season.
