Marcus Rashford has ‘no respect’ for Erik ten Hag claims ex-Premier League striker

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has no respect for Erik ten Hag, that’s according to ex-Premier League striker Chris Sutton.

It has been a tough time lately for Marcus Rashford with the Englishman’s struggles on the pitch for Manchester United being compounded by controversy off it.

Rashford was not in the United squad to take on Newport County due to illness but in reality, the Englishman was in trouble due to being spotted in Belfast on Thursday night with training on Friday morning.

HITC have reported that coaches and players at United are concerned with his behaviour but the club released a statement last night confirming that the situation had been handled internally.

As you would expect, this latest indiscretion has led to a media feeding frenzy with the Englishman hoping to silence his doubters on Thursday when the Red Devils take on Wolves at Molineux. It seems that Chris Sutton believes Rashford has been disrespectful.

“Marcus Rashford is like a good few Manchester United players at this moment in time,” Sutton said on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast.

“He thinks he’s untouchable. This hasn’t been the first time where he’s had a misdemeanour. It’s been continuous. He has no respect for the manager and no respect for his teammates. That’s the bottom line. He’s probably thinking he is going to outlast Ten Hag anyway but he’s out of control as far as I can see.

“He is 26 now, Marcus Rashford. He has such a lack of respect for the manager. He’s making his feelings quite clear, isn’t he? I feel sorry for Ten Hag, but essentially we know which way this is going to go.”

Whether there has been a lack of respect from certain players towards Ten Hag, like the Jadon Sancho situation, remains to be seen but the reality is that the Dutchman has lost 14 games in all competitions by January.

United are miles off of a title race, are out of the Champions League at the group stage and were knocked out in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup to Newcastle United.

Ten Hag won’t lose his job because he fell out with a few players, the Dutchman will more than likely lose his job at the end of the season because of the poor results and turgid football that has been seen this campaign.
