Fulham boss Marco Silva has praised Manchester United ahead of Sundays Premier League game at Old Trafford.

Speaking in Fulham’s pre-match press conference, Silva praised Manchester United’s recruitment. He said that, “They signed two or three players that made a huge impact in their squad as well.”

He continued to name the two players he is most concerned about on Sunday too.

“Some players have been the key for them the last few seasons, like [Marcus] Rashford, like Bruno [Fernandes], all these players.”

This will be no surprise to anyone given the seasons these two have had. Marcus Rashford has 30 goals and nine assists this season, while Bruno Fernandes has 12 goals and 13 assists in his first year with the captains armband.

It is unclear whether the two danger men will play against Fulham however, as United have already secured Champions League qualification.

Marco Silva on United’s season

The Fulham boss went on to offer praise to Manchester United for their season so far. Insisting the club have shown their quality, referencing the 4-1 victory over Chelsea.

He said, “You know that you are going to play against a very good side. I think they’ve been showing this season that they’re a massive club, last night [against Chelsea] they showed again their quality.”

The Portuguese manager continued, “The individual quality they have, in my opinion, is clearly in the best teams in this league, because if you look for their individuals they are really a top, top, top level.”

Hearing an opposition manager wax-lyrical about United is always a proud moment. This especially since the last few years have lacked this.

Silva added that “They changed some things [this season], they signed good players as well.” This could be referring to Erik ten Hag and the revolution he has began at the Theatre of Dreams.

Win or lose on Sunday, Ten Hag has had an amazing first season at the club. A season in which he has won many plaudits.
