Marcel Sabitzer has sealed his loan transfer from Bayern Munich to Manchester United.
The Austrian’s transfer was completed on transfer deadline day, with Sabitzer answering United’s desperate call for midfield reinforcements.
An injury to Christian Eriksen is expected to keep the Dane out until April, and this saw United step up a move for a new addition.
Sabitzer flew into Manchester last night, bringing a temporary close to his spell at Bayern, after joining the club in 2021 from RB Leipzig.

Sabitzer’s agent comments
Marcel Sabitzer’s agent Roger Wittman spoke to German outlet TZ.de about his client’s reason for leaving Bayern.
Wittman explained that a lack of playing time and a possible disconnect with coach Julian Nagelsmann left Sabitzer frustrated.
He said: “It’s clear that he wants to play. He’s a top player, not just any player. All I can say is that Marcel is the most uncomfortable when he’s not playing.
“He’s the most uncomfortable player when he loses, that’s the main thing. He’s a killer in character, the boy.
“This is what players look like who always want to win and the coach has to check who should be playing for Bayern. I can’t imagine Marcel’s attitude or class failing.”
Sabitzer only played 90 minutes twice for Bayern Munich this season, although did feature in 23 matches.
He could have an important role to play for United, who are competing in four cup competitions.
The Austrian’s fiercely competitive nature will certainly appeal to Erik ten Hag, who wants driven characters in his squad, who want to play and want to win.
Sabitzer could have sat on the bench at Bayern Munich and collected a pay-cheque, and probably a Bundesliga title medal too. Instead he wants to be a part of something new, and play a meaningful role, and this is an attitude United fans will admire.
