Manchester United’s stars put up some impressive numbers in the FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic.
The statistic that matters most is always the goals column, and while Manchester United did enough to beat Wigan, the 2-0 victory was not a scoreline to blow anybody away.
The performance was pretty good, though, with Manchester United totally dominant aside from some typically abject finishing.
Diogo Dalot scored United’s only goal from open play, with Bruno Fernandes netting second goal from the penalty spot.

Kobbie Mainoo wins six tackles
Kobbie Mainoo was starting in his first FA Cup game, and produced an excellent all round performance in the win at the DW Stadium.
Mainoo, 18, won more tackles than any player on the pitch, six in total, winning 10 duels.
He completed 90 per cent of his passes, 61 from 68 attempted, creating on goalscoring chance. Mainoo almost got on the scoresheet too, with a long range shot saved low by the Wigan goalkeeper.
He blocked one shot and made 12 ball recoveries in an assured performancee which saw Manchester United fans vote him as man of the match.
Fernandes and Rashford create 12 chances combined
Mainoo was not the only Manchester United player to put up some eye-catching numbers in the victory.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford created 12 chances combined, six each, with the latter providing the assist for Diogo Dalot’s goal.
Rashford does need to be more clinical, he had four shots on target which were saved, with Roy Keane criticising him post-match.
Fernandes had 86 touches in total, the same number as Kobbie Mainoo. He benefitted from the teenager’s defensive work, getting plenty of the ball to create chances for the attackers.
Tottenham will provide tougher opposition on Sunday, but if United can play like this in the game at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag’s side will surely walk away with all three points.
