The conveyor belt of talent coming through the Manchester United academy appears to be never-ending, which is encouraging for the future.
The Manchester United academy is at the very core of the club‘s history, and manager Erik ten Hag is intent on utilising it where he can.
FA Youth Cup winners Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are already in the first team squad, while Ethan Williams and Ethan Wheatley joined training at Carrington this week, along with 16-year-old Bendito Mantato.
There’s another youngster to keep an eye on in the future too, and his name is Edward Fletcher.

Edward Fletcher is a future Serbian star
If you want to feel old, Edward Fletcher was born in 2008, after Sir Alex Ferguson‘s side won the Champions League in Moscow.
Fletcher will turn 16 in September, and plays for Manchester United’s academy as an attacking midfielder.
While the name Edward Fletcher is a very English sounding one, his full name is Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher, hinting to his Serbian heritage.
Fletcher has been called into the Serbian under-16 national squad, and made his debut for the team this week.
He managed to get on the scoresheet too, netting an impressive goal in a victory over neighbours Montenegro.

Fletcher featured in a youth tournament for Manchester United’s academy in the Netherlands, and has continued to work hard at Carrington under the tutelage of the coaching staff.
United have just been announced again as entrants in the Super Cup NI, a youth tournament in Northern Ireland in July, and Fletcher is one player who could be involved.
Manchester United talents rising up the ranks
Manchester United’s under-18s side have been dominating their peers this season, unbeaten in league competition with 15 wins and two draws from 17 matches. They are also into the Premier League Cup final.
Next season many of these players will jump up to the under-21 side, and another batch of prospects will take their place.
One of these is expected to be Amir Ibragimov, a highly rated young striker who actually made his under-18s debut when he was only 14, and at 15, has already made an under-21 appearance.
England youth international Shea Lacey is another one to watch. He has missed the last few months with injury, but is being tipped to make his return to action this weekend.
