Antony needs to be dropped after two abysmal performances so far this season, with Facundo Pellistri our pick to be given a chance.
Antony is becoming a really frustrating player at Manchester United. Since his arrival for a whopping £80m from Ajax, which sees him earn £150,000 a week at Old Trafford – he’s not really lived up to the hype.
A lot was to be expected of his coming into this season. He’s had a full year to settle now and should be really justifying his price tag.
But after the first two games, it’s becoming clear that nothing has in fact changed.

Antony is too one dimensional
We don’t think we’ve ever seen a player as one-footed as Antony before, and it’s ruining all fluidity in our attacks.
The fact he has to cut onto his left every time is making us too predictable. He’s been useless thus far against Wolves and Tottenham.
There are some players that can get away with being one-footed. Arjen Robben is one that comes to mind, but he was so good he could easily get away with it – sadly, Antony doesn’t even have that ability.

He’s frustrating, as there’s evidently talent there. However, we think what’s necessary is he needs to be dropped. He needs to know he’s replaceable and hopefully, that will give him some much-needed motivation.
Pellistri is our pick
But who is to replace him? We think Facundo Pellistri deserves a shot.
The Uruguayan has shown glimpses of brilliance in small cameos Erik ten Hag has granted him, so there is really no harm in giving him a go from the off.
Pellistri will be hungry to stake a claim at Old Trafford and hasn’t really been given the chance yet.
He’s shown his class when on international breaks and even in pre-season, particularly against Bilbao where he was ‘very good‘.
It can’t hurt to try… right?
