Manchester United star responds when asked if win v Chelsea was his best ever performance for Red Devils

Manchester United produced a fantastic team performance to beat Chelsea, with a number of players standing out.

One of them was midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who was picked out for praise by Erik ten Hag after the game.

The Moroccan outclassed an expensively assembled Chelsea midfield, showing what he is capable of, especially in the second half.

Manchester United fans on social media hailed Amrabat, declaring his display as his best performance for the club so far.

Sofyan Amrabat gives his verdict

Sofyan Amrabat was asked about this in a post-game interview on MUTV, whether it was his best display yet.

He responded: “I’m happy because the team won the game, how the team played is most important. I try to help the team.

“It’s normal that my start is a bit difficult because, first of all I don’t like to give excuses, but I didn’t have a pre-season, so that’s difficult for every player I think.

“I started with an injury, normally you need some time to adapt, but there was no time, the team needed me. I had to jump in immediately. I’m a fighter, I will never say no.

“The Premier League is the strongest league in the world, I am happy, step by step, every week, every day I’m stronger and better.

“I’m happy that the team won the game and I played quite good. There is still a lot of things to do better.”

Sofyan Amrabat can win Manchester United fans over

Manchester United fans have not been convinced by Sofyan Amrabat so far. But there’s good reason for that, as he has been in and out of the side.

This was just the second time Amrabat has completed 90 minutes, and the first time since the win over Sheffield United.

Kobbie Mainoo‘s emergence will impact his game time, unless a way can be found to start them both together.

But as we wrote when Amrabat signed, his acquisition can be good for Mainoo, who cannot be expected or demanded to start every game.

If he continues playing like this, Amrabat will be hard to dislodge, and he will stand a good chance of winning supporters over and earning a permanent deal.
