Manchester United have been given a boost with midfielder Christian Eriksen returning to first-team training at Carrington earlier today.
United frustrated Liverpool and battled to a 0-0 draw at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
After a double-header of home disappointment against Bournemouth and Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag will be pleased with a point.
United weren’t free-flowing and had to withstand major Liverpool pressure but showed the kind of strong mentality and battling qualities that many want to see.
Ten Hag will be happy as he starts a new week, and he has been given a real boost today…
Christian Eriksen back in Manchester United training after injury
United went with Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay in midfield on Sunday with a host of other options unavailable.
Casemiro and Mason Mount remain out of action whilst Bruno Fernandes was suspended for the trip to Merseyside.
Ten Hag needs more available options in midfield and Christian Eriksen’s return to training today is a welcome boost.
United have today posted a message on social media confirming that Eriksen is back in training at Carrington.
The Dane has been out since picking up a knee injury in the 1-0 win over Luton Town in November.
Eriksen missed Denmark’s international fixtures last month but is now ramping up his return ahead of the busy festive period.
United’s post included a photo of Eriksen back in action at Carrington as he ramps up his comeback.

Rasmus Hojlund will be glad to see Eriksen return
This news will be a welcome boost for Ten hag even if Dirksen will have to be eased back into action.
The Dane has quality in terms of his passing and crossing, which Rasmus Hojlund will love.
Hojlund praised his Denmark teammate in October, suggesting that he is a ‘quality player’ with ‘incredible’ ability in his locker.
Hojlund is still waiting for his first Premier League goal but Eriksen will be looking to pick him out when he returns to Premier League action.
An Eriksen assist for a Hojlund goal would feel very fitting to get the striker off the mark and we will now hope to see it in the coming weeks.
