Manchester United have provided an injury update on Amad after he suffered a pre-season injury.
In an update provided via the club’s official website, Manchester United confirm Amad faces a spell on the sidelines with injury.
The club state Amad will miss the ‘first part of the season’ and cannot offer a projected return date.
This suggests Amad will be out for at least the next month, although, it could be far longer, a worst case scenario would be that he misses the rest of 2023.

Amad injury situation
Amad suffered an injury 10 minutes into Manchester United’s pre-season win over Arsenal in mid-July.
He had previously played 90 minutes across two friendly games against Leeds and Lyon, and looked lively in both.
Amad had earlier sent a message out on social media suggesting his injury was not as bad as first feared, but now faces a spell on the sidelines, having not played since.

Amad faces unclear future
Amad impressed on loan at Sunderland last season, scoring 14 goals to take the Black Cats to the brink of promotion.
This led many Manchester United fans to be excited about his potential to contribute in 2023/24, and pre-season was crucial for him to try and win over Erik ten Hag.
Suitors would have queued up to take him on loan again, however, this could be an exit route which is now blocked off, if he cannot get fit by September 1 transfer deadline day.
This could end up working in Amad’s favour, keeping him at United for the season, if he can return by October.
There will still be plenty of work to do for Amad, when he returns. First and foremost, we wish him the best with his recovery, and remain confident his talent will eventually see him rise to the top.
