Manchester United youngster Amad says his injury is ‘nothing serious’.

The forward lasted only 10 minutes of Manchester United’s friendly win over Arsenal after being brought on at half-time.

He hobbled off the pitch with an apparent ankle injury, before being pictured after the game with crutches.

United manager Erik ten Hag did not address the injury post-match, leaving fans to wonder the severity of the problem.

Amad update

Amad has now provided an update via Instagram and it is good news.

He writes: “I feared the worst,ALHAMDOULILAH nothing serious 🙌🏾 back soon Inch’ALLAH.”

Manchester United won the game 2-0, with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho in the first half.

While this clearly does not seem like a serious injury, according to the 20-year-old, it is unclear if he will be able to play a part in upcoming pre-season games.

Amad had started the first two against Leeds and Lyon. United have matches scheduled in the USA against Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Amad has big season upcoming

It was already unclear where Amad will be playing in 2023/24, whether he will be part of the Manchester United first team, or if he will head out on loan.

His injury further clouds the situation. Erik ten Hag may decide he has not seen enough of him to be certain what he wants to do, yet.

If he is made available for loan then there will be no shortage of takers for the promising forward, who impressed on loan at Sunderland last season.

United have to balance Amad’s need for game time against the club’s own need for attacking depth through the loan season ahead.
