Manchester United’s away kit will be worn for the first time by the team on Friday when they take on Rosenborg in Trondheim.

As is the case with every new season nowadays, Manchester United have multiple new kits to flaunt.

Friday’s pre-season friendly match against Rosenborg will see United’s first team wear the new away kit for the first time.

The new away kit is coloured blue, the same colour worn by United in the 1968 European Cup final and the 2017 Europa League final.

What do you think of Man Utd’s new away kit for 2026/27…?

Manchester United fans pleased with new away kit

United fans on TalkingPoints have been talking about the new away kit ahead of its debut on Friday.

Two fans were quick to draw comparisons to the shirt United wore in 2008/09, although that was designed by Nike rather than the current kit manufacturers, Adidas.

The other reactions were mostly positive, with another fan suggesting the away kit has the best design out of all United’s latest kit releases.

Man Utd wore blue when Sir Matt Busby won his first piece of silverware as manager

Royal blue was the colour United wore in the 1948 FA Cup final against a star-studded Blackpool side consisting of Sir Stanley Matthews on the right wing and Stan Mortensen up front.

The match finished 4-2 as Sir Matt Busby won his first piece of silverware as United manager.

Jack Rowley scored a brace, while Stan Pearson and John Anderson also got on the scoresheet.

Along with the blue jersey, United wore white shorts and blue socks that day.
