Manchester United fans have all been left a little divided following the weekend over a loanee who is absolutely thriving at the moment for his new side.
Kieran Mckenna”s Ipswich Town side was simply electric at the weekend. They were involved in a 4-2 thriller with Preston North End, to which the home side came out on top.
Manchester United loanee defender Brandon Williams scored his second goal in two weeks for The Tractor Boys to keep up his impressive form since moving.
This has led to discussions from United fans regarding the 23-year-old, which has definitely split opinions.
Fans left divided over Brandon Williams
Naturally, when a player goes out on loan, fans are going to be talking about whether they could potentially head back to Old Trafford to replicate their good form.
This is no different to Williams. Particularly at the moment with United having a majority of their full-backs out injured.
However, despite his good form – a lot of Red Devils believe they’ve seen enough from Williams to know he just won’t cut it at the club.
“Like him, but can’t see him making it at United,” one fan writes in a response to a Tweet asking if he had a future at Manchester United.
“I doubt it because we already have 2-3 players in both full-back positions. It’s just unfortunate that all of them are injured collectively at the same time,” another suggests.
Some were more blunt with their responses. “No, he doesn’t. Not good enough” and “probably not sadly” two more declare.
On the other hand…
However, on the other end of the spectrum, some believe he could still have a part to play under Erik ten Hag, particularly if he was pushed over to right-back – where he was deployed on Saturday for The Blues.
“What happens when he plays in his actual position and not pushed to LB all the time…”, one frustrated ran Tweets.
“Brandon Williams! You deserve a starting role at MU!” another states.
“Only if he was around now”, another ponders. “He could actually be playing considering how versatile he is playing as an LB and RB.”
Hard to say really
It’s difficult to say at this point, but one thing for certain is we probably could have done with him at the moment, just in terms of depth.
It’s good to see Williams finally getting some consistent game time and playing in his favoured position.
But in our opinion, it’s far too early to even question whether he could come back into the frame for Manchester United.
