Manchester United fans are questioning Erik ten Hag’s transfer decisions after Facundo Pellistri has been linked with a loan move away from Old Trafford.
Pellistri, who is thought of highly by United fans, has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI under Ten Hag.
The 21-year-old Uruguayan winger came off the bench in both United’s 1-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford and 2-0 away defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are now ‘in talks’ over sending Pellistri out on loan to Sheffield United ‘in order to aid his development.’

Man United fans not happy with Pellistri decision
One fan said: “United [are] continuing with favourites. Antony has shown nothing and Pellistri performs every time he plays rather [than] five mins of 15 [minutes].”
While another added: “Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? So, Antony popped our eyes out with his performances and we decided to loan Pellistri.”
A third tweeted: “Pellistri is far [sic] much better than Antony; why does the club want to loan him out instead of giving him more minutes?”

Another posted: “I love Ten Hag but I’ll question him if he lets Pellistri leave on loan when he needs to be starting [matches]. I can’t back that decision.”
A fifth Twitter user wrote: “Why is Pellistri going out on loan!? That’s a dumb decision!”
“Letting Pellistri leave would be a big mistake, in my opinion,” someone else commented.
Pellistri appears bound for Sheffield United
United fans were hopeful that Pellistri could receive a rare start under Ten Hag after Antony’s lack of impact out on the wing this season.
However, Pellistri has only managed one start in 12 senior appearances for United and it appears that Ten Hag is keen to stick with former Ajax star Antony.
The MEN reports that the Uruguay international’s move could ‘suit all parties’ and Sheffield United are ‘eager to reinforce their squad.’
The newspaper also added that United are ‘happy with his development’ and United manager Ten Hag is an admirer of Pellistri.
Pellistri, whose current United deal expires in 2025, has not found the back of the net in his 12 senior appearances for the club.
