Manchester United have not been very good at selling players over the past few years, with several stuck at the club on large contracts.
Andreas Pereira finally moved on in 2022, after two years out on loan at Lazio and Flamengo.
He signed with Fulham for a fee of £10 million – plus add-ons, a very good deal for the midfielder.
Pereira has been playing so well for Fulham that a key detail in the deal could soon make Manchester United’s sale look even better.

Andreas Pereira sell-on clause
Andreas Pereira has been linked with a move away from Fulham with a report from ESPN claims Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are both interested.
While this comes as a surprise, it has been backed up by Brazilian outlet TNT Sports, who claim Juventus are also keen.
As part of the terms of Manchester United’s deal to sell Andreas Pereira last summer, a sell-on clause was inserted.
The Athletic report United negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause into the deal with Fulham.
With ESPN reporting Fulham could push to receive £35 million for Pereira, this would see Manchester United cash in with a bonus £7 million – almost doubling the fee the midfielder was sold for.
Pereira has provided six assists in all competitions for Fulham, flourishing for Marco Silva’s side, albeit ending with a dispiriting FA Cup quarter-final defeat on his return to Old Trafford this week.
He really has to finish the season strongly to earn a big move to one of the interested clubs, but if he does, Manchester United will be pleased, with the sell-on clause looking like a potential masterstroke.
