Manchester United can further extend an impressive English record against Aston Villa

Manchester United have a seriously impressive record on Boxing Day.

The Red Devils face Aston Villa this time around, with this the first Boxing Day fixture that Manchester United have played since 2020.

Erik ten Hag will be desperate to get back to winning ways, with the West Ham game a real horror show – which extended Manchester United’s goal drought to four games.

They’ll need to break this to beat Unai Emery’s side. If history repeats itself, United have a good chance. They’re usually tremendous on Boxing Day.

Manchester United can further extend impressive record

In English league history, Manchester United and Aston Villa are the two sides that have the most wins on Boxing Day. Manchester United have 53 wins, whereas Aston Villa have 46.

The Red Devils will be looking to extend this to 54 and have Villa remain on the same.

Their last clash ended in a draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in 2020. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were the scorers on the day.

United have had a three-year hiatus from the fixture, so it will be good to get back in Boxing Day action at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s Premier League Boxing Day Record

Since the Premier League was introduced in 1992 – Manchester United have been dominant on Boxing Day.

Let’s hope United can add another victory to this at 8 PM on Tuesday.
