Why Manchester United vs Brentford is not on TV in the UK

Unfortunately for fans, Manchester United’s Wednesday night Premier League clash with Brentford is not televised in the UK – but why is this the case?

Erik ten Hag‘s men will be looking to bounce back following a somewhat miserable performance against Newcastle United on Sunday. The Magpies ran out 2-0 winners, with United’s lack of goal threat really proving an issue at St James’ Park.

Not only will the Red Devils be desperate to amend the weekend’s loss, but they’ll also be seeking revenge on Brentford themselves after the reverse fixture ended in a 4-0 drubbing at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The game also now proves vital in ten Hag’s mission to obtain Champions League football, following results on the weekend dropping United into fifth place.

Why isn’t Manchester United vs Brentford on TV in the UK?

The reason behind Manchester United versus Brentford not being televised live in the UK is that it’s a rescheduled game, that was not one of the five matches that were scheduled for initial broadcast by BT Sports or Sky Sports.

This ultimately means that despite the fact there are only two Premier League fixtures tomorrow night, United won’t be televised live for fans in the UK.

The game was initially moved as the Red Devils played the Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle United.

The sheer amount of games United have played this season has meant our fixture list is heavily congested, often playing games in as little as four-day window periods.

Despite the game not being broadcast live, you’ll be able to catch highlights on the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, with the video dropping usually around half an hour after the conclusion of the game, while MUTV will broadcast live commentary.
