While Manchester United were playing FC Copenhagen, a star of the future was taking the next step in his journey to the top.
Wonderkid Isak Hansen-Aaroen came off the bench for Tromso to record his first senior assist for the Norwegian side.
Hansen-Aaroen, is just 15 and is already featuring for Tromso’s first team.
The MEN reported last year that United had agreed a deal with Tromso to sign Hansen-Aaroen, which can go through when he turns 16 on August 22.
The paper reported last month that United plan to announce his signing this summer, pending international clearance.
Hansen-Aaroen came off the bench after 55 minutes with Tromso 3-0 up n a league fixture against Sandnes.
In the 80th minute he set up Tromso’s fourth, laying on a pass for Lars Saetra to score. His side went on to win 5-0.
He has now made six first team appearances for Tromso over the past few weeks, helping his side sit top of the Norwegian second division after eight games with a 100 per cent record.
With this in mind, there is a case that it may be in Hansen-Aaroen’s interest to stay put for now.
United will be keen to work with the promising attacking midfielder as soon as possible though, having beaten competition from other Premier League clubs to sign him a year ago.
He would go into United’s under-18 side upon arrival, with a hope of quickly progressing to the under-23s in his first season.
Getting first team football now, no matter how limited, can only help his development.
