Manchester United academy ace Finley McAllister has been included in England U-17s World Cup squad.

Amid the chaotic mess that is the Manchester United first-team squad at the moment, at least some of the academy players are thriving.

That includes Finley McAllister, who has just been chosen to play for his country at the U-17s World Cup.

The Manchester United star is part of a fantastic Three Lions squad that will be looking for World Club glory in Indonesia.

McAllister included in Young Lions World Cup squad

Not long after recently signing his first professional contract with Manchester United, McAllister will be taking to the world stage with England.

The Young Lions will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Steve Cooper’s U-17 World Cup side, who lifted the elusive trophy back in 2017.

McAllister should be a big part of proceedings, having been a regular for United’s under-18s side, and the national side at a similar level.

McAllister will travel to Indonesia with the rest of the squad and will start the U-17 World Cup against New Caledonia on Saturday 11th November.

Shea Lacey misses out

One Manchester United player who will be absolutely gutted, and vice versa from England’s perspective, not to be attending will be Shea Lacey.

It’s been claimed by Academy Scoop via Twitter he will miss the FIFA U-17 World Cup due to injury.

The account’s ‘exclusive’ claims Lacey has a torn muscle which will keep the England winger out of action until the new year at the very least.

Lacey is one of United’s brightest academy sparks, playing well above his age range already. He also featured regularly for England and was in ‘unstoppable‘ form up until his injury.

He’ll be missed, but we wish McAllister all the best during his time in Indonesia.
