Manchester United youngster Shea Lacey continues to stand out at international level for England’s under-17 side.

This week we named Manchester United’s six brightest prospects looking to follow Kobbie Mainoo into the first team, and Shea Lacey was among them.

While Lacey, 16, is at least a year away from first team football, he is thriving at academy level and making great progress.

He did so again this week with another impact-making performance for England at under-17s level.

Shea Lacey does it again

Shea Lacey played for England’s under-17s side on Thursday and led the side to a 3-0 win over Norway.

Lacey started on the right wing and scored the opening goal of the game at the end of the first half.

Early on in the second half Lacey provided an assist with a cross for Tottenham prospect Mikey Moore to score.

Lacey now has six goal contributions in four matches for England’s under-17 side, three goals and three assists.

This adds to an extremely productive season for Manchester United’s academy sides, where he has starred in the UEFA Youth League.

Lacey has five goal contributions in six games so far in 2023/24, and a call-up to the under-21s is very possible between now and the end of the season.

Harry Amass also involved

Manchester United left-back Harry Amass was a second half substitute in the win for England’s under-17s, coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes.

United midfielder Jayce Fitzgerald was an unused substitute. He has three youth caps for England so far.

Red Devils fans will be encouraged to see young prospects representing England at youth level, there could be a lot more to come from all three players in the year ahead.
