Manchester United ended their third stretch of the season before the final international break of 2025 by preserving their unbeaten streak.

The 2-2 draw against Spurs was a repeat of the draw against Nottingham Forest, in both the good and the bad aspects of it.

Man Utd were again sucker-punched twice in the span of a few minutes, and again needed a late equaliser to salvage a point.

The best thing Ruben Amorim can take away from these games is that they will finally have against Everton what they have sorely missed these last two games.

Despite these two consecutive draws, it can’t be denied that this squad is genuinely showing signs of growth by not wilting in front of tough moments.

The next step is to avoid those tough moments altogether by becoming more confident with the ball.

A part of the reason why United failed to do that against Forest and Spurs is that they looked awed at times by the energy of the stadium.

Once the first goal went in for the home team, the stadium started bouncing, and the opposition, buoyed by that energy, went up and scored again.

It marked a stark difference from United doing the same to their opponents at Old Trafford, which Amorim said after the Forest draw is ‘so important’ for this team right now.

The Man Utd manager said at the time that the little vibes in the stadium on transitions, or the roar after a tackle, really help the team, and that Old Trafford is finally becoming a fortress.

That puts these two away draws in much better perspective, because United will finally go back to their own hunting ground when the international break finishes.

Form at Old Trafford will decide the season

Since losing undeservedly to Arsenal on the opening day of the season, United have used the energy that day and converted Old Trafford into a genuine fortress.

They are unbeaten at home this season since that game, including wins over bogey team Brighton, and a win against Sunderland that looks better and better with each result the Black Cats have had since then.

With Everton up next, who will be on a high after their home win against Fulham, Amorim knows their home form will decide the season.

They should aim to win at least 14-15 games at home out of a possible 19, and then scrape 30 points or so from their away games.

That will put them in a prime position for a European spot, and luck permitting, a late assault for Champions League places.

So far, their loss to Arsenal is the only league loss at home. They must maintain that record when Everton visit after the international break.
