Manchester United have a number of exciting youngsters banging on the doors of Ruben Amorim’s first team.

With the financial struggles currently on the cards at Manchester United, recruitment by Ineos is focussed on youngsters who can step into the senior side.

Already there have been a number of interesting additions such as Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi – but Ineos are lucky that the club already had an incredibly talented academy.

Ruben Amorim will have quickly realised this, with Obi in contention to be involved for the first team against Spurs. However, the 17-year-old will not be alone.

Now, it seems one young player has been definitely included in the travelling squad to face Ange Postecoglou’s side and it could be a gamechanger for United if he gets a chance.

Jack Moorhouse set to be in Manchester United squad against Tottenham

One player who has been a cut above academy football since his return in 2024 is Jack Moorhouse, with the attacking midfielder shining on more than one occasion.

Moorhouse was the best player on the pitch as Amorim watched from the sidelines, which led to the 19-year-old getting involved in first-team training.

Now, according to journalist Nathan Salt – Moorhouse is set to get his big opportunity this weekend as he travels to London with the United squad.

Moorhouse is absolutely ready for senior football at United and his ball-carrying, scoring and creativity could prove transformational for Amorim – with no other player like this in the squad.

Despite being the most ready to step up, Moorhouse won’t be the only youngster involved all being well, with another pair in the running to travel.

Ruben Amorim also considering Chido Obi and James Scanlon

Moorhouse could quite easily get minutes this weekend and make himself a permanent fixture with an impressive showing against Spurs.

The midfielder is physically ready for the next level but two others could join him.

The United U18 side saw Obi and James Scanlon absent – something which Nathan Salt claims is because both are in consideration by Amorim for Sunday.

There is no confirmation on if either will travel, but the chance seems strong.

Obi and Scanlon have been two of the very best U18 players this season and it’s hardly a shock they’ve caught Amorim’s attention.
